GUIDELINES FOR THE CONTRIBUTORS
The Journal of the Indian Botanical Society welcomes original research papers including short communications and critical scientific reviews highlighting present status and an overview of the past work on topics of current interest. All the authors of an article must be active members of the Indian Botanical society.
Submission of the manuscript: The manuscript should be submitted online at https://jibs.mripub.com/index.php/JIBS/about/submissions. Separate files should be uploded for (a) A declaration that all authors are members and (b) the manuscript contains unpublished data in the related field of research and is not under consideration for publication else where (c) there is no conflict of interest among authors or with any publisher as per format concerned and (d) plagiarism check report from authentic software (e) Title page file containing title with name of authors, their affiliation uploaded (f) Abstract and key words file (g) text of manuscript without name of authors and list of references (h) graph and tables in word file (i) related figure in jpg in HD quality (j) cited references in alphabetical order. The status of paper can be tracked through the track ID provided upon submission of manuscript.
Format of the manuscript: The manuscript should be typed in double space, Times New Roman, 12 - font size, with one inch margin on all sides. In case of line diagram, they should be legibly scanned for good reproducibility. legends for each figure and table should be clearly mentioned in text file.
Title of the paper should be short and in sentence case, bold (14 font size) centered near the top of the first page.
A separate page with title, authors’ names with first name followed by middle name and surname (last name) and affilitation, followed by abstract and keywords should be added for indexing purpose, Short running title. Authors name as desired for citation should also be mentioned.
Arrangement of the text should be-Abstract, Key words, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Observations/Results, Discussion and Conclusion, Acknowledgement and References. All these subheadings should be in upper case (capital letters) and sub-subheadings in title case. Abstract should be limited to not more than 150 words followed by keywords (maximum 5) arranged in alphabetic order and separated by comma, followed by a short running title.
Illustrations: Separate files should be uploaded for figure and tables. Figures should be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals. Their legends brief and self explanatory, should be written in text file to fall below the figure. Tables should also be numbered consecutively using Arabic numerals (Table-1, 2 ... ) with a self - explanatory title, above the table. Abbreviations should be explained in foot notes, otherwise standard abbreviations should be used, e.g.: mL (milliliter), g (gram), L (liter), kDa (kilo Dalton), kb (kilo base) and symbols e.g.: α, β, µ, etc. All Latin binomial names should be italicized.
References should not exceed 40 in number and they should be arranged in alphabetical order in the following style:

Chapter of a book: Cross JW and Schulz PL (1997). Chemical induction of male sterility. In: Pollen Biotechnology for Crop Production and Improvement, eds. Shivanna KR and Sawhney VK, Cambridge University Press, London. 218-236. Please avoid the reference of Ph.D . thesis as far as possible.
In the text, references should appear as Cross and Schulz (1997) or (Cross and Schulz 1997). A comma should be placed between two references, within the same parenthesis, after the year. All papers are reviewed by members of Editorial Board or external referees. The comments of referees/ editors are communicated to the authors for revision and incorporation of suggestions, before the paper is finally accepted by the Chief Editor.
After acceptance, the corresponding author will be sent a galley proof of paper which should be carefully checked and returned to the Chief Editor within a week of receipt. To meet the notional cost of production, including article composition and online publication, the author shall be asked to remit Rs. 1000/- for one article limited to 05 print pages. For any additional page Rs. 200/- per page shall apply.
Hard copy of reprints will not be provided. Authors will be entitled to get a pdf of their paper, which will be uploaded on www.indianbotsoc.org. If hard copy is required by authors, the charges will be informed separately depending on the number of colour plates. Further, the author can order one hard copy of the particular issue of the journal in which the article is published on the payment of Rs. 1000/- + postage.
Publication Model: Free to Read and nominal Pay to Composition and Publication. Whereas, the Copyright of all the articles published in the journal shall rest with the Society, but the readers shall have free access to read in order to encourage wide readership, and the authors need to bear the notional cost incurred in article production to sustain the journal.
Journal subscription tariff. Owing to increasing cost of printing, it is being felt to minimize the expenditure on the printing of hard copies. However, to meet the subscription from libraries and individuals and publication agencies we may continue to print a limited number of hard copies depending upon the demand. Therefore, the following annual subscription rates are proposed:
Hard copy – Rs. 3000/-
Electronic copy – Rs. 1500/-
Hard copy + Electronic – Rs. 4000/-
Author copy (one issue) – Rs. 1000/-
Book Review: one hard and one soft copy of the book (non-refundable) will have to be submitted to the Chief Editor at editorjibs@gmail.com, Department of Microbiology, CCS University, Meerut- 250004, U.P.
