The present paper describes the morphology, ecology and distribution of 11 species of cyanobacterium Spirulina collected from the river Tapi of Jalgaon district, Maharashtra.These are Spirulina abbreviata Lemm. f. minor Hortob, S. labyrinthiformis (Menegh.) Gomont, S. laxissima West, S. laxissima
