Abstract
The research studies on climate change and its impacts on agriculture and suitable mitigation and adaptation strategies to overcome the climate change are reviewed so as to get a clear picture of the situation. Increase in temperature, and erratic rainfall are the major
components of climate change that are happening over a period of time. This has resulted in decreased agricultural production, high incidence of pests and diseases, decreased milk production in dairy animals, decreased egg laying capacity of poultry and decreased inland fish production and migration of marine fishes, thereby threatening the food security of the nations. Mitigation and adaptation practices have become the important tools in overcoming the ill effects of climate change on agriculture and allied activities.
